For MGM executives have begun talks for a sequel to cult comedy hit Hot Tub Time Machine.
Despite failing to make much impact at the box office the film has become a cult favourite - and money spinner - since its release on DVD.
Double bubble trouble: It seems the cast of Hot Tub Time Machine are in for more thrills and spills after MGM demanded a sequel
The film followed the adventures of
four middle aged men after they went back to their teen years thanks to
the technologically advanced bath. However the movie's biggest star John Cusack, is not involved at this point.
Rob could also be involved in writing a script with Steve Pink, the director of the original who is in talks to return to direct the sequel.
If this happens it is unclear the original's writers Josh Heald, Sean Anders and John Morris will also be involved.
Making a comeback: But at this stage it seems John Cusack will not be returning to the franchise
Moves have been going on behind the scenes for the past several months to get the project off the ground and it is understood the deal-making is still at an early stage and could fail.
However if one is struck the production would be fast-tracked.
The 2010 effort was the last movie produced by MGM before it went into bankruptcy.
It followed four bored, unhappy out-of-shape middle aged men, who travel back in time using the titular tub to a landmark night of their teenage lives in the 1980s.
Taking the plunge: The popularity of the original film with home audiences have transformed its fortunes
