I voted for him for the same reason I married him - his character: Michelle Obama's election day love note to Barack in last-ditch bid for votes

Taking a sentimental approach, President Obama's staff posted a photograph of a young Barack and Michelle looking loved-up to Facebook this morning, as Americans ventured out to cast their vote.
The sepia image, which appears on Michelle Obama's official page, is accompanied by a caption reading: 'She voted for him for the same reason she married him - his character. Cast your ballot for President Obama today.'
Deen Freelon, a professor at the American University in D.C., who has been analyzing both presidential candidates' Facebook pages during the campaign trail, revealed that the top five most-liked posts were nothing to do with politics, and were scenes from family life.

He told The Atlantic: 'The first thing that jumped out at me here was how none of the top five most-liked posts had anything to do with politics - they were scenes from the Obamas' family life, the kinds of moments that could be found in any American family photo album.
'The wholesome sentiments these shots convey couldn't be farther from the knock-down, drag-out, negativity flooding the airwaves and the internet... which may explain why they were so popular among Obama fans.'

The picture of Barack and Michelle has attracted more than 170,000 'likes', and thousands of comments.
One commentator, wrote: 'This pic is adorable. They're my favorite couple-love how much they love & respect each other!!'

Earlier this year Barack Obama announced that was going to embrace social media, and during the campaign trail both his Twitter and Facebook accounts have been managed by Obama for America staff.
His page has more than 32 million likes compared with just over 12 million for Mitt Romney.
Prof Freelon added: 'Romney's fans seem to be more goal-oriented than Obama's: rather than reveling in idyllic family scenes, they were most interested in showing off their support for Romney to their Facebook friends.'.
Both campaigns posted about each candidate's families, asking supporters to 'like' and share content.
