Don't bite my head off! Photograph captures angry lion arguing with his mate...and it's enough to give everyone a headache

This is the moment a lion shows his mate who's boss during a heated argument between the couple.
The big cats were at North Carolina Zoo and could be heard across the park as they loudly aired their grievances with each other.
And judging by this photo, the domestic was enough to give everyone a headache.

The seven-year-old male took the lioness' head in his mouth to show he meant business.
Zoo photographer Valerie Abbott heard the gripping couple and snapped them mid-row.

Valerie, 55, said: 'I had heard that the two lions were particularly animated that day so I went to the enclosure to catch them at it.
'They are very interesting to photograph because they are very big creatures and they pull some brilliant expressions.'

The lions are the only two living at the zoo and they have both been there nearly all of their lives.
'They are very charismatic creatures', said Ms Abbott. 'We have had about three litters out of them, they are a very compatible couple.
